Terralytiq is excited to establish a multi-year partnership with Bain & Company as both a customer and knowledge partner to Terralytiq’s decarbonization platform.
As companies urgently shift from sustainability strategy to implementation, Scope 3 emissions present the largest opportunity to achieve 2030 decarbonization targets. Yet, reducing these emissions requires advanced skills in product carbon footprints, supplier engagement, and decarbonization transformation from pricing to procurement. Bain and Terralytiq’s partnership will deliver these skills to industry leaders aiming for net-zero.
Under the agreement, Terralytiq will license its decarbonization platform to Bain, serving clients across regions and sectors on the low-carbon transition. This will enable companies, from US industrial manufacturers to European private equity, to create effective decarbonization plans for the 80-90% of emissions that sit in their supply chain. “We are delighted to welcome Bain as our customer,” said Dr. Alexander Pfeiffer, CEO of Terralytiq. “Their commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission to move decarbonization ambition to action. Together, we are creating a significant impact on global emissions reductions”.
A joint development team will merge Bain’s deep industry expertise with Terralytiq’s advanced decarbonization analytics, enriching Terralytiq’s library of decarbonization models. The effort aims to provide innovative pathways to decarbonize critical value chains such as steel, aluminum, plastics, batteries, heat pumps, wind turbines, and vehicles. “Our partnership with Bain is a tremendous opportunity to bring a practitioner’s perspective on decarbonization,” said Will Glazener, COO of Terralytiq. “Already in the early deployments, we’ve seen that the companies we serve are better equipped with robust pathways to net-zero and the tools needed to take decisive and pragmatic action over multi-year transformations”.
Expanding on 10+ years of client service in the low-carbon transition, Bain will help corporate clients take a deeper look at decarbonization opportunities across their entire value chain. Terralytiq will offer Bain a tailored platform that consolidates Bain’s proprietary insights across sectors, enabling clients to cut through the noise of data complexities and tailor their pathways within a broad range of scenarios according to their unique company and supplier footprint. By doing so, clients gain a distinct advantage in the net-zero transition by cutting down the time between planning and action.
“Our partnership with Terralytiq allows us to provide comprehensive decarbonization solutions to our clients,” said Torsten Lichtenau, Senior Partner at Bain. “By combining Terralytiq’s advanced platform with our expertise, we plan to fast-track the move to a sustainable future.”
This new partnership signifies the shared vision of both organizations to make a significant and lasting impact on global decarbonization efforts. Early deployments will focus on industrial sectors and expand to consumer, private equity, and other heavy-emitting sectors.
