To begin, we use a “spend-cube” that breaks down your company’s costs into categories. This is typically available to download from your accounting or controlling system
With this spend-cube and some basic information from you, we can create an initial estimate of your company’s carbon footprint – a “Day 1 answer”
As part of this process, we’ll use advanced algorithms to match your suppliers to our database and collect additional information from your supply chain
Once we have the initial carbon estimate, we can pinpoint the areas that contribute the most to your scope 1-3 emissions – the primary factors driving your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This will help us determine where we need to conduct further investigation to improve the initial estimate
For these high-priority areas, we will guide you through a series of questions to gather additional data and information. If you don’t have the data available, you can skip a question and come back to it later
By the end of this step, you’ll have a more detailed understanding of your carbon footprint, including key insights such as which suppliers contribute the most to your value chain emissions
Using the detailed understanding of your carbon footprint and the primary factors driving emissions along your value chain, we’ll propose specific initiatives to reduce your emissions. These initiatives will include an estimated cost and an evaluation of their availability and maturity
We’ll select initiatives that are tailored to your specific situation and that optimize the costs associated with reaching your decarbonization targets. You’ll have the flexibility to select, unselect, or modify individual initiatives, as well as add new ones
By the end of this step, you’ll have a clear understanding of what it will take to achieve your decarbonization goals, including the level of difficulty, realistic timelines and phases, and associated costs
In this step, we’ll work with you to flesh out your decarbonization initiatives by quantifying them, assigning budgets and owners, and defining timelines. This is also the stage where you’ll invite your wider organization to participate in the process
Top-management input is especially crucial during this stage. You’ll need their approval for budgets, resource allocation, and commitment to targets – potentially even public commitments. We’ll provide relevant reports and projections to support this process
By the end of this step, you’ll be equipped to answer any questions about your organization’s carbon footprint and decarbonization plans
This is the stage where the rubber meets the road. To turn your decarbonization goals into actual progress, the owners of the initiatives will need to work hard to implement them and track progress – likely for several years
We’ll support this process by providing a software platform to measure and report progress, identify areas for improvement, and develop new initiatives. Our proprietary database of decarbonization initiatives will also be at your disposal
Our user-friendly cockpits, dashboards, and API will make it easy for you to report and communicate progress, as well as integrate with the systems of your stakeholders (such as investors and suppliers)
